You all can remember the first get-together between the top franchises of Nintendo and Sega, yes? The crowds, the applause, and the awkwardness of the situation in which Mario and Sonic meet in China to participate in a wide variety of sporting events instead of the Mushroom Kingdom, or even Sonic's world. Well, get ready for a second outing, for this time, the two biggest names in gaming meet with each other once more for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics! We don't really know too much other than a few tidbits of information regarding sporting events that are to be avaliable, the possible usage of the Balance Board for games, and the confirmation that new characters from both series are to be added to the Olympics roster. The only games that we -are- aware of are Skating, and Skiing, but given the trailer (that can be seen below), it's highly likely that snowboarding is also an event in the game. As for who all is playable, it is uncertain who the newer additions will be (though, I can probably guess that, for example, Donkey Kong might get included this time around, and perhaps a few of the referee characters that didn't quite make the cut last time), but one thing is for certain; In addition to the obvious two, it is already confirmed that Wario is once again playable, but most importantly, so is Eggman! And that is why this game is being mentioned today. Eggman shares the spotlight with Mario, Sonic, and Wario in the first trailer for the game!
Unfortunately, aside from the video and a few choice trailer screenshots, there isn't that much else for us to go on at the moment. The Eggman Empire shall keep track of this game, and update the masses on any new developments that may arise. For now, it's just a simple matter of a waiting game till something fresh comes along, and once it does, this site will definitely keep you posted.
