I'm gonna be frank. It's no secret that
the Eggman Empire has been inactive lately, to say the very least. However,
occasional interest in the status of the site is brought to my attention,
so I feel at the very least I owe anyone who's interested an explanation.
The staffers have been very loath to work
on this site lately. Whether because of laziness, the tense times mentioned
in earlier updates, or dissatisfaction with the current Sonic games,
the staffers have been more or less on edge about the whole deal. Most
of them have left.
However, me and Tony, and perhaps even
Chris, have expressed interest in attempting to revive EE once more.
There are several problems with this, however.
1. We are severely understaffed.
No, this is not an invitation to ask to be a staffer. If you're qualified,
I'll seek you out, not the other way around.
2. We have not worked on a website
in a long time. This is a simple fact, and one that time will remedy
if we attempt to continue, but we have done so little regarding this
for so long, that I, for one, have forgotten most of my skills. The
first few weeks, if we do update, may be very awkward.
3. We have much to do. In particular,
we have a lot of Eggman-related material to update about, as several
Sonic games have been released since the last update. Also, in my opinion,
the navigation on this site may need some cleaning up. On the other
hand, once we have updated all the official content, there's
no guarantees we'll have the fancontent EE used to rely on to keep itself
afloat.
And finally, 4. We might just lose
interest. I said I'd be frank. It's quite possible that both of
us will try this for a couple days, then simply decide we don't want
to do it anymore.
So in summary, EE's going to be in a weird,
transition-y phase right now. It'll be a bit awkward and perhaps even
stop entirely, but for now we'll do what we can. Bear with us while
we get these things sorted away. I apologize to anyone who's happened
to stumble on this for such a lengthy update that basically amounts
to "no new content, sorry, we're gonna try again". But hey,
maybe we'll stick with it this time. I'd like to see the EE back up
on its feet.
